warranty poll

How many of you went ahead and voided your warranty by choice and why? I ask because I have a LIFETIME drive/powertrain warranty with the Subaru Dealership I bought the evo from and contemplating on whether or not to continue getting my car serviced at a shop in order to not void the warranty. Having to pay $15 for tire rotation w/ every oil change to keep warranty intact sucks plus I may want to mod deeper than I have (currently I have TBE,walboro, LICP, filter, tune). What would you do?

well. its your car, if you feel like you want to mod further, or abuse it further, your warranty wont cover any of it. so its up to you..

the way i treat my car... if it breaks, replace it with something more for racing, or take it off.

I dont abuse my car at all, I take very good care of it which makes me wonder if I will ever even need the warranty at all. if the warranty is only for factory defects than maybe I should screw it

It depends on how deep your pockets are. If you can deal with having to fix whatever breaks out of your own pocket then by all means mod it to the extreme.

As for me -- I want to mod but I know there is no way I could drop the cash for a new tranny or transfer case. It's not like I can afford a bunch of mods then keep a spare $4,000 laying around just in case I need a major repair. So, I roll it stock, don't abuse it, and hope that if anything does ever break that it will be covered by the warranty.

Just my 2 cents.

I installed a few very mild mods, so my drivetrain warranty can be voided. OTOH, as I'm a consumer of my dealer and bought 2 of my Evos there, not a word one had been uttered relative to the issue, and my SE is serviced there. YMMV.
