looks like your gauge is reading around 45 cm/hg so i would say that your gauge is pretty accurate....i think its time to do a boost leak test

Yeah, and it looks like it's sitting around 45cm/hg
Edit: oops I posted that before I just read the above post.

opps i spoke to soon...looks like its off 0.1 for boost so when your boosting if it holds at 0.8 boost then you actually pry at 0.9 but that still isn't what you should be running for boost

i think evo 9's run close to 20 - 21 psi so that in bar would be 1.378 - 1.447 bar

if the most your hitting is 0.9 bar thats 13.05 psi

Has the car ever had a boost controller on it? Looks like it's running wastegate pressure. If your car is used then it probably had a boost controller on it at one time and the owner didnt re-install the factory boost lines with the restrictor orfice which will cause it to run wastegate pressure. If it in fact has the wrong lines your best bet is to put a mbc back on it or order the factory boost lines with the restrictor.

you could check to see if the lines are ran the right way but i don't know how to check for the boost pill that restricts pressure....but it should have a line coming off the turbo outlet pipe and wastegate that T's into one line going to boost control soleniod and the other line coming of the boost control solenoid so go to the intake pipe

Here is a pic of the stock boost lines. Note the red paint on the end of one of the lines, also the main line that goes to the boost solenoid under the intake has foam around it. Also note the squeeze clamps which alot of people remove when they install an MBC as they are difficult to get back on larger diameter vacuum hose. The restrictor pill is in the short section of vacuum hose after the T. If your vacuum hose doesnt look like this then you can get a mbc or order a new boost line from the dealer. It's been a while since I've had this on my car, but I think the red painted hose is the one that connects to the wastegate. The restrictor pill is in the other shorter hose that connects the turbo to the 'T".
