go with the se and that is coming from an MR owner...all i got to say is i have an mr at the end of the day really ( i wish i had a rs)

Hey, I am looking at selling my 06 Evo IX SE, its tarmac black tons of mods, makes close to 500 awhp if not a little more (NEVER HAD IT DYNO'D) but pulls a little harder than the guys evo who tuned my car which his made 504 AWHP. I just installed a double din (AVIC-F90BT) head unit and relocated the climate controls underneath. My car has about 20,156 miles on it and is always garaged. I just spent 1100 on some new tires and have 8 miles on them, Only reason Im seling it is because I never drive it and want something more practical. Im trying to get 31K for it but let me know if he might be interested or want to see pics.

ROFL I want him to get the SE but now hes thinking about getting an 09 wrx now. Hes really concerned about the warranty.

 

i like the white MR all day long. it's about the same price, and the MR is the badest *** of the EVO family. that's why i got one the day they were released.

 

test drive them both. a 5 speed thats been beaten on is worse than a 6 speed that was taken care of. our paint is terrible and black is already a ***** to keep clean. if they are equal though, and he plans on modding it over 400 whp, the SE. stockish DD take the MR.

 

My guess is this is how the tests are performed, the original tests were at 48mph for highway. Atleast on the real world highway, I would expect the MR 6 speed to do better than the 5 speed.

....Because the IX GSR SE has the stronger 5 speed transmission compared to the 6 speed MR. You only have to worry about this fact if you're planning on doing a lot of modifications on your Evo, otherwise the 6 speed is just fine for basic mods and daily driving.
