buying a evo X mr
The VIII and IX have buttery smooth engines? What the hell have you been driving? The X's motor is super smooth, and is GREAT for taking grandma to get her nails done, hell, grandma can even drive it and not know its a sports car she's driving. And how are inline engines girly? Because they aren't boxer motors like your's?
And yes, most Evo owners are assclowns, it's a sad fact of life: assclowns buy cars that verify (or seem to) their ego, and the Evo is perfect for that

i was completely underwhelmed by my buddy's evo 8. the engine seemed so quiet and smooth like a little hyundai or something, my impression of evos was that they need hello kitty stickers all over them. yes, the x is even worse in this respect. but ill always miss my entire car shaking (my wrx had no interior or sound deadening)
You sure your buddy's Evo isn't broken? Mine was a PITA to drive because it was so loud and rough...
The 2.5l in the Subarus is much smoother, even in the '08 STi vs the X. Buy a IX RS if you'll miss the car shaking

i dont wanna dis evo owners but when a bunch them of showed up at this BBQ at world one in kent, wa, a lot of seemed like major assclowns to me. actually most other places in the nw too, like they have some kind of chip on their shoulder, nothing like subie owners. where owning a subie automatically comes with friends. id like to learn as much as i can about the evo X, everything before that gen doesn't really matter to me. i was not impressed at all by the evo 8 and 9, that buttery smooth inline engine, perfect for shopping and getting your nails done seems to me. but the dsg transmission, the only other car that has that and similar to the evo is either a bmw 335xi or a nissan gt-r. both of which way out of my price range. ill always miss my subie, now i belong to the dark side....

i can't help it if im an opinionated person. i apologize for sharing the way i feel. really im on here to learn as much as i can about my new car and at times i like to express my opinion. lots of subie or any car owners are tools, i have little respect for the whole "import" scene. a car is a car. why do a lot of kids make their car unsafe and unreliable if they don't use them for their intended purpose? buying "racing" parts and not actually racing. street and racing do not belong in the same sentence. and to everyone who hates on me, you do realize your going to run into people who may have different opinions than you, especially on the ****ing internet
how can anyone define a car with 4 doors, awd, and tons and tons of computers a "sports car"? ill admit, it performs very well and is extremely "sporty" but its also going to serve as my everyday and only car. a true sports car would never have more than 2 seats , would have 2 doors, no electric motors, and only the rear wheels delivering power, and it would only be used for motor SPORTS
