^^^lol the big cams are really crappy on the street, especially with weather fluctuation... they dont idle right and the power band is to steep to really feel the power in the street...

Everyone I know runs Cosworth or Kelford as well. A set of the Cosworths broke in half on a buddy of mine but luckily it was a clean break and didn't affect anything else, they contacted them and gladly helped him out. I recommend both, pretty big power gains, noticeable for sure with a tune.

I e-mailed camshaft shop, which is owned by Kelford and asked them about the stock Evo 8 springs and this is what Kevin responded:
That depends on rpm and boost level.
If you keep it at stock rev limit and run under 18lb it will be ok, but
anything more than that is asking for trouble.
Thanks
Kevin
I have a DSM and 'upgraded' to Evo8 springs/retainers and I already bought a set. I'm going to run them, my builder said that with the Evo springs, I will be fine to rev to 7-7.5k and 20+psi. I will really find out in a few months. Wish me luck guys!

It means it has a rough idle that is due to the profile of the cam. It is hard to explain much better than that but once you become familiar with the sound you will know a car that has wild cams when you hear it.

You don't have too, but you might as well since you're in that area. And when you put in 272's, you are replacing the camshafts. Go to you tube and listen to the vids on Evo's w/cams and that will familiarize you with how the lope sounds.

Just installed my Cosworths M2's with Cosi valve springs last week. Got tuned yesterday, and could feel a good power gain in high RPM's. Lope is minimal on these cams thanks to the MIVEC head. However, gains are not as good as they could be due to crappy 91 which is all we have here. I would def. recommend Cosworth M2's or Kelford if you are looking for minimal lope, and good gains. Also Cosworth has come out with the M3 set which is 272/280.

I had buddy that did the Kelford setup and loved it. Be careful though because he was close to snapping his timing belt. The shop him to replace it now, because if that breaks guess what..motor goes kaboom...I would replace the springs and retainers at the same time as well though. I'm running HKS 272's and love the way they sound.
