new castrol edge?

has anyone tried this new castrol edge synthetic oil in their evo, or know anything about it. I was considering running it, but wanted to hear what anyone had to say. Thanks

Its a new oil by castrol and as far as oils go unless you don't go synthetic, most name brand synthetics will be fine to run in your evo. How many people have blown a motor over oil? I will most likely be trying it in a few weeks. So far my car has seen mobil 1 , royal purple, and ams oil. I could never tell a difference between any of them..

Castrol has no oil wells, or no oil refineries. All they do is buy oil from another company and rebottle it with a "cool" new label. Check out the bottle next time you see it. It says something like "Due to Castrol's ever changing technology, oil color and smell may differ..." More like, whoever we bought this batch from last week may look different from the week before because they're from 2 different companies. On the other hand, it's still oil. Just as long as you change it before it looses it's viscosity, you're fine.

The fact is ,that it doesn't matter whether or not they drill for their own oil or not. Oil when it comes out as crude is the same oil that you will find on anyother place on this planet, with that in mind its what happens to the oil after it's bought is what matters the most. Simply stating that castrol buys and then bottles it's oil is just flawd, seeing that castrol is a company that is over 100 years old, pretty much denounces the " we buy the rebottle with a new lable theory".
