anyone in an X mr come from a 350z?
hey to all those an x! im over here with an 07 base Z. i deffinately want to make the switch, for awd, 4 doors and all the other goodies (brembo, bbs, etc. i love the z, it drives great but im just looking for feedback from members that have made the switch. the good and the bad! im sure the x handles better, but does it feel better? how is the accelleration, since the z has less overall torque but no lag. remember the newer z's have 306 hp, not 286. i like the fact that the x easier to make power (as with all fi'd cars). i dont know, i think you get the point. just wandering if ill be happy down the line. and it doesnt help that i havent driven the x, the local dealers are stingy! you have to commit to buy the car to test it, whats the point! anyways mr or gsr are welcome to reply, but i wrote mr in the thread title because thats what im leaning towards, for the more compliant suspension, seats, and wheels. im still on the fence as far as the dcsst. so the more info the better! thanks!
If your looking to up the power of the X then dont go with the mr the tranny cant take alot of power. I dont own a 350z but i drove lots of them same with the X. the best part about the 350z is that its rwd and thats fun. it is also faster stock for stock but other than that the X is way better, much better handling much more potential and is more fun to drive
and I also like the fact that I can take four of my freinds and their stuff on a thrill ride.

1st off dont own a z but couple of good friends and my cousin do and they absolutely love there z's, they all have mods done to them except my cousin went out on the limb with a huge turbo cams clutch exhaust oh man the whole works on his this thing is puttin down close to 500 whp's crazy car man... but after gettin a ride in my x (gsr by the way, like the other guy said trannys on the mr just cant handle to much increased hp's)they were all just blown away and not one of em didn't blurt out the words "dude i should trade my ride for one of these bad boys" ......... as cool as the z's are ( especially the 370 looks sweet) there is just no way i personally would want to have a z over an x...totally different world, much more roomy for one, way better drive - a - bility + control (obviously AWD) lots more goodies available out the factory, wheels brakes turbo( n f u get the mr all kinds of stuff inside, gps sound system leather twin clutch system clean as sh$$ man).......
`````things that suck about the car??? well obviously the warranty hell if you sneeze on the dam car its void, stock clutch is a booger, cant take too too much horse beating thats for dam sure, paint isn;t the gr8test, chips happen way to easily imo but an evo w/ chips is hella sexy, thats really the only complaints that i can really say about the machine... i'd say go for it man good luck with you decesion

Nice. Used to have a 2006 350z Touring, 6 speed.

Well worth the switch
This car pulls harder in my opinion, plus the handling is amazing. I go into sharp turns at high speeds and never ease of the throttle and never have the slippage I did when I tried that in the Z.
I miss the little drifts I performed
But the evo is just kick *** + turbo

i have an 03 evo8 my cousin drives an 350z and loves it, but drove my evo and loved it, he almost creamed himself because of the power. It is moded slightly. anyway as far as an x the mivec helps with the power until boost kicks in. The x is very fast stock, but is much smoother than previous models. the new improments to the x are nice especially the interior is much better. the gsr trans is percieved as accepting more power, but i don't feel the mr has been fully tested. Test drove and loved the paddle shifing made the turns even more fun plus driving in town is a breaze compared to constant shifting. Its your choice but the change is worth it. I went from a 04mustang mach1 to my evo and couldnt be happier!!!!!

Lot of friends are telling me why I switched the Z to a EVo..
I like to drive alot on highways,and here on my country there are lots of bad roads and the Z is to Low and not confortable to drive here..I do miss the RWD but man is fun to go on Curves at High speed and not letting the throttle, Also the Evo is Faster than the Z..
