Cone Filter Question
Cone Filter Question
I have a question for those who run cone filter style intakes that do not have induction boxes.. Can you guys not drive in the rain? Because I would think that the rain would flow through the hood vent and then water would reach the cone intake. I'm thinking about running a cone intake as well, but I don't want to risk damaging my car if I have to worry so much about driving in the rain. Thanks in advance EvoM.
I had the BR cone filter in my car for over a year, and drove in the rain all the time with no problems. My evo is my DD, so I drove it rain or shine.
I even had the heat shield off the hood for a few months, so you could clearly see the engine and all the rain would pour right in. I think unless you get a huge rainstorm for like...2 weeks straight and just soak your intake in water....you should be fine.

yea u r fine. i as well as a few friends run open filters with no covers and never have an issue with rain or snow. the intake is off to the side far enough where it is out of the way. Also the high temps given off by ur exhaust manifold will keep everything pretty dry
