Confused New EVO Owner
Those are your fogs, which means sir you have a IX SE as I was suggesting. Doesn't look to be an accident car either as ballistic suggested. You got an awesome deal on a IX SE, and would honestly not even sweat the stuff missing with the amount you saved. If you wanted to put it back to a IX you could do so pretty easily and it wouldn't be too expensive. Check the classifieds here, and you could scoop plenty of the things up used in great condition (and sell everything you have, you'd spend almost nothing).
That it does...
Yeah, I love the car, and I always wanted to get into a black car again after my first car. Although it's the hardest to maintain, I still think it looks the best when it has been freshly waxed. My problem is that, now that I have the EVO, I want to modify it more than my 350Z.

Ain't that the truth. Just buying basic bolt-ons for my Z has cost me thousands of dollars (i.e. my exhaust, the GReddy EVO2, for my Z was $1200, whereas the EVO could have the Ti-C or HKS Hi-power for less than half that...).
Doesn't look to be an VIII. He's got an aluminum roof with the 5-speed, with a VIN registering it as a IX. He's also got the metal IX DV, and he can look on the intake cam gear/timing belt cover to see if there's a bulge (the bulge will be on the gear closer to the cabin) which would put this to rest (as someone suggested). All indications are pointing to a IX SE so far.
how do you know its an aluminum roof? and as for the mr dv it could have been swaped very easily just like everything else was
and the rs models come with alm rooms too i know then only come in white/red but we never counted out an accident i was not trying to say it was a viii, i was saying it has viii parts on it..

While I was reading this post I thought to myself this would be a great car to start a sleeper build.
