05 through a "Liquidator"
So I called about a car. Guy has an 06 Evo. Today, I test drove it, and it was pretty nice. I think it previously had intake and still has exhaust. 25K miles. Well i look at the bumper and say. "WTf?!" This is an 06? I sware the Mitsu logo is not on the numper on 06. It is supended. The grill is split into two pieces onm 06. Guy says, sorruy, I think its an 05. Wow.
So turns out it is an 05. A couple dents and rock chips which were painted over with.. I dunno. Looks like nail polish or something. Flawless other than a dent on the driverside exterior a pillor just above the door. Interior is perfect. Has the SSL package.
I called him out on the year haha. And i only know acura/honda. But it is time to evolve
So the car seems pretty nice but after the test drive I parked it and noticed a funny smell. Burning plastic to be exact. He told me it was the clutch becuase I drove like ****.
In all honesty, he was right! I slipped the clutch a little bit more than necessary - i am used to a soft acura oem clutch that engages in the first inch. But i know the smell of a burning clutch from an old 88 subaru GL i used to take in the mountains to go wheeling. It was the smell of plastic burning.
So everything seems pretty nice other than that. The carbon fiber wing has a tiny it of sun damage.
Whats it worth through a "liquidator"? No seriously thats what he says he is!
05 with 25,000 miles slight exterior damage. I think 19,500.
Oh yeah. So it has the ACD... I thought that was 06. I guess im wrong. So should I test that or anything make sure it works?! Or do they usually work?
What is the concensus?

Sounds sort of fishy to me. If this was any real place, they'd give you the correct year with a quick VIN check. I'd take a real close look at that car...
To give you a comparison, I got my 06 SE for $24.4 /w 25K miles with all the lame dealer fees and the exterior and interior are flawless. People have gotten better and worst deals than me, so I seem to be in the middle.
