Evo 9 bogging down on launch.

i recently have been dabbling around at the drag strip and when i use the 2 step my car seems to bog down on the launch and the rpms drop a good bit causing a slower start that i think is possible, anybody got any tips or tricks they wana share or any answer to this problem at all would be much appreciated

Are you on the factory tune with the factory 2-step? You may need to have the 2-step raised higher!

its the factory 2-step set at 5500, ive been messing around with it try to get the best launch, ive been doing it as slow as i can but if i do it slower it normally cooks the clutch.

You have to let go quickly but not drop it. You will feel your car lurch forward and your rpm will drop. At that point you let the clutch out quickly. If you have to feather it a little to hit near 4750-5000rpm when you have fully let off the clutch. This should take less than a second. Watch your rpm to hit your target area. You will learn what yours car sweet spot is. Let it cool down a little between lauches....though I have had some of my personal best 60' times launching when hot lapping.
