Just start in L and shift through at red line. Really nothing to it....if you want to get a jump off the line though, you'll need to put some serious abuse on the tranny to achive anything substantial.

I started a group buy on Torque Converters from Levelten. Run a search on Torque Converters. All of the details are in that thread.

Put the car in first, drop the clutch at a few thousand RPMs, look in the rearview at the auto Lancer.

Seriously, there are 4-5 threads on this already. I'm moving this to the newbie forum. Please take the time to look for the other ones because we've got a ton of duplicate threads as is.

no good way to race. i race mine by putting it in D and stepping on it when the time comes.

Jeff: Redline might be too high to shift as power starts to drop off after 5800 or so. so maybe shift just before.

eh.. :-\ some people mash the break down... hit the accel right before you go (with the break down) -- get it up to 2000rpm ... then release the break and floor the accel -- but who knows..

1)put it in D
2)put hand brake on
3)punch it and spin the tires
4)realease hand brake
5)say goodbye to the other lancer behind you

i had a AT 97 prelude b4 i got the lancer what i did was:
1)put at neutral holdin brakes
2)rev up to 3/3500rpm
3)let go of brake and pull shifter to L (flooring it)
Note: do this at ur own risk. Tranny may start to slip if this method is used continuously.

Also i forgot to mention if u do not want to do a "neutral drop," u can always what i call "griping." what you do is start on the D and cruise normally until 3000rpm and then push to neutral and floor it up to 5/5500RPM, pull it back to D and ur set the whole way.(Again do this at ur own risk) this method is like double clutching except without a cluth and only do this ONCE in the beginning of the race. this method believe it or not will go alil over redline if u do this correclty.(6,300 or more RPM)
