Another New Guy
Hey there, another new guy here. Just thought i'd introduce myself. My name is Kai and I'm down here in South Australia.
I just bought an Evo, and couldn't be more happy with it! So now i'm trawling the world wide web in an effort to learn as much as i can about it, so i can sort it out properly once i have a few of these debts from buying the damn thing sorted out
It's a late 05 Evolution IX, stock as a rock AU delivered model.
Prior to the evo i had an S14a Silvia that i did a little bit of work too, it had gotten to the stage where it was a bit too uncomfortable to live with on a daily basis (was real good fun the rest of the time though ;P) and it was getting on in age so i sold it and bought the Evo.
My plans for this car are pretty tame, i did the adjustable everything, big turbo, cams, etc on the silvia, and it sucked having to be scared of the dreaded defect notice all the time - so i want to keep this thing nice and comfortable (and legal!) for the street with maybe the very occasional track day in the mix. I'm looking at fitting some nice eibach springs, some of the PP bilstein dampers, some decent rims and tyres, exhaust / air filter, fuel pump, EBC, tune, couple of carbon fiber bits to make it look schmicko and done.
anyway here are some pics of the car:

and the S14 it replaced:

Cheers
Kai

That S14 looks vicious man! You named pretty much all the normal bolt on parts to get for the street. You could also get some street/strip cams which the best on the market now is Kelford 272's. The 9turbo has gone all the way up over 500whp+ so the stock turbo is good for a while. Happy modding and welcome to the club!!!

With the cams - i want to keep the mivec, i would imagine that would limit my options in terms of cams? i'm not too sure how the system actually works.
thanks for the welcome guys
yeah i've heard good things about swift sport-mach springs too, still need to do a bit more research i guess

welcome to the world of evos. Prepare to spend lots of money(joke) Your gonna have a blast owning this car. In terms of springs I would go with either swift or gt works. I think you will find most people here will agree especially if you are gonna go with the bilstiens.
congrats once again.
congrats once again.
thanks dude. i miss it a bit, the guy who bought it off me lost the rear end and banged it into a tree within a week of buying it
i wouldn't mind tracking down those same Bee R rims for the evo. They dont make em anymore but i'll keep my eye out. I think they'd look decent. There are a couple of similar rims, nismo lm-gt4's are close, but the bee*r's had a really aggressive concave to the spokes that i never quite saw replicated elsewhere. the 18's on the back looked tough in real life.
