hey, guys. name's Jason from Fresno, CA. just bought an evo. it's a white IX MR. it's been in an accident and has some damage, but it's my new project car none-the-less.
the rear has some damage from the collision. the trunk floor is accordianed a bit... so i'm soon taking it to have the floor pulled back out at a frame shop. hopefully, the floor doesn't tear.. otherwise i'll be replacing it.
the front also had some damage. i had to pull the lateral portion of the radiator support back out. then replaced the bumper and the FMIC. the bumper needed some work to fit, as the mounting points were moved out a bit. about 1/2".. so it seems the frame shop will do some adjusting there too.
the body isn't bad. there's a crack and small hole in the rear bumper cover.. doesn't look to bad. the bumper underneath? yeah. it's folded.
the front looks fine. the very tip of the hood is bent.. and a couple scratches on the bumper cover. not too bad at all. at least i can look at the car and not cry 'till i start pulling body panels.

problems i'm researching so far:

*ACD: all three lights stay on. the prev owner swapped the clutch. i'm told the ACD unit was bled.. how well? dunno. gonna redo that today. i HOPE that's the issue.

*rear, passenger suspension: there is some nasty positive camber. i've adjusted out as much as i could.. something is bent. dunno what.

*ABS: when i hit the brakes, i hear the ABS kicks in and the pedal is hard as a rock. if i keep pushing, the brakes go back to normal and the ABS light comes on. i'm assuming the sensor on that R/R wheel is bad. took out the fuse... no i have no ABS.

i'm spending all day searching through this site.. kinda hard, seeing how i can't post in any threads, etc. makes asking questions and buying parts pretty hard.


anyway.. that's it. i'm gonna bump around and read as much as i can.. and have my buddies hit up people for parts, since i can't. haha

yeah... i've been driving it. even in the shape it's in.. it's soooo fun. pics:









i've buffed out a bunch of the rear bumper cover scuffs. the tail light no longer needs tape. as you can see, i need a frame rack.

RR suspension parts. shock/spring are okay.. i have a bent pieces.. lower arm. upper. dunno. i need to replace them one-by-one or just swap out all.

ABS sensor for RR wheel.

ACD pump. don't need it.. but i should replace it. not in a big hurry, as it seems it's not a necessary part and is quite pricey.

tail lights. i'll take red-painted VIIIs, IXs, or VIIs.

anyone got the floor pan for the trunk? LOL
