Question Lancer GTS

I plan on receiving my first Lancer this week, it'll be a 2009 Lancer GTS because I couldn't afford an Evo or Ralliart. So my main question is, before I buy any aftermarket parts for my GTS, will parts for a 2009 Lancer Evolution fit on a 2009 Lancer GTS? I'm pretty sure they do but I was hoping for clarification because the last thing I need is a part that doesn't even fit.

Thanks

exterior parts yes but not engine parts no im sorry. there are some turbo kits out now for the lancer and other stuff you can do. i have a 08 lancer gts and a 03 lancer evo. so the lancer is just for crusing but search around you want to buy parts made for that car not another.

You aren't going to find to many interchangeable parts between these 2 cars, interior or exterior. However, the GTS does have a few decent sites that you can check out for some aftermarkets. RRM is a good site, and WORKS has a few options. We still have a ways to go before we can any bigger of a selection of parts, seeing that the car is relatively new.

See I thought that the main difference under the hood was the turbo, now I don't know much about cars so I most likely am wrong but, I was pretty sure that was it. Is that turbo the reason nothing will work?

tbh I would think getting like a 2005 Evo would be a better choice over a Lancer GTS, specially if you are thinking of doing mods to it.

I am looking at a 2005 Lancer Evolution on Ebay right now, the only reason I didn't know if I wanted an Evo is it is my first car and I wasn't sure if I wanted stick shift but, it's very very tempting.

Go with a used 2005 Evo VIII, it will probably be cheaper (at least insurance wise) than a new 09 Lancer, and faster. Though if this is going to be your first manual car, you should have a friend teach you the basics first!

I don't know why I can't find it anywhere so maybe you can help me, does anyone know the difference between the 2009 Ralliart and 2009 Evolution? I know the hp on an Evolution is 57 more but... How? They have the same turbo, the same engine... And do you think if I'm tight on money I should do the Ralliart or the old Evo? Because the Ralliarts also seem very nice.

From my personal experience my friend went through the same thing you are right now...he wasn't sure what he wanted so he bought the gts thinking to be safe and he is already selling it because in the long run didn't come close to getting an evo. Just go with the evo and you will be very happy.

The turbo and surrounding bits like the wastegate and exhaust manifold are different. Look for some threads on converting from a Ralliart to the EVO and you will see how different they. That being said, it's relatively easier because the transmission, and driveline are the same.. If this is you first car and you don't know stick, I'd recommend you get a Ralliart and learn to drive well. Then get an EVO or convert your Ralliart later...

If you check out AMS's Ralliart threads you will see just how easy it is to get a good amount of power out of the Ralliart.

ud be happier with the used evo or the ralliart. i had an 08 gts, which i loved, but then traded it on an 04 evo. the only 3 things i miss about the GTS is gas mileage, cruise control and the navi unit (bought a flip up nav with sat radio, so now i dont miss that either, lol)
the gts, while being a great car for what it is, is by no stretch of the imagination. it looks good, drives very well and can get out of own way with out at problem having enough power for daily driving. however the evo is MUCH faster, has the AWD, and is in fact, an evo. altho i wouldnt mind having another GTS for long trips
