Aluminum Jack

What's everyone using for an aluminum jack? So far the two I've looked at have horrid reviews lol...Just want some input before dropping the dough...

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...Lift+Equipment

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...3500_200313500

That second link is only to the 1.5 ton model...there's also a 2 and 2.5 but they really didn't have any reviews...same company as the 1.5 though.

Thanks!

I have the craftsman one. Got it like 2 yrs ago, but only started using it a few months ago.
Works for what i need it for so far.
We'll see how long it lasts though

I use a blue and silver Harbor Freight "racing" jack. I've had it for a year now and it still works and looks great. Plus, it's really light so it's easy to move around and pick up.

Prior to this I had a Sears 3 ton steel floor jack. It was heavy as hell (a ***** to move around) and started losing pressure after a year of use.

I recommend the Harbor Freight unit!

Stay away from Craftsman Jacks. They fail often.

I have a craftman low profile jack for about year. Been good to me so far. It's smaller and black in color, so different than the one you have. Last car was SRT-4 and I needed something with like 3 inch clearance (I forget exactly what I got now...), Evo is a little higher so may be able to get away with normal jack but I haven't measured the clearance yet.

This. I have one of the Harbor Freight aluminum jacks (the larger one)

For a second jack, I have a cheap SUV jack, has a higher lift than the aluminum one, which occasionally comes in handy, but it can't get under lowered cars.

i use the tire rack version. its pretty nice. Its one of the less expensive ones. Craftsman things are nice. Even if they break, its probably a only short trip to your local sears, and they dont give any issues about replacing parts.

My friend uses a non-aluminum craftsman jack, and it has served well for years.

Get the Costco jack (Alcan is the brand I think)

I've had mine for 2 years, still works great and the fact that it's from Costco means you can return it if it fails for a full refund

I stopped buying Sears Craftsman products after they refused to replace a Craftsman torque wrench that had fallen apart due to crappy build quality.

I've had the Craftsman Al jack for about five years...use the crap out of it and have never had a problem. Many of my friends have them too with out incident. Go figure.

edit: Changed the years to five...remembered that I bought it when I still had the M3...got rid of it about year before the Evo...had the Evo for about four years.
