Do you ever get sick of the powerband?
Somewhat related. I don't like how the car has no happy medium when trying to go. You either dog it or you over rev. There is a small small gap in which you can start normally but I tend to just dog the thing since I don't need to overrev it on the roads most of the time. This is true for most turbo cars but SRT-4 was really easy to move forward. The 2.4 liter torque probably helped a lot there though. Damn I miss the giant truck shifter so much now...evo has too much disconnect.
I would say since it ran 9's??? Is that not big enough for you? Or do you need something bigger to compensate?
Same goes for you
Same goes for you
i dont have a problem at all with the turbo lag...coming from a k-pro'd rsx type-s, the evo has a much wider powerband than the rsx did (vtec kicked in at 4200rpm)
however, i do find it to be more of an on/off switch. like someone said earlier, there is no happy medium. i've ridden around in my friend's 350z (stock with intake) and that car just seems to love whatever rpm it's at. i think it has a great powerband. in the evo though, it's either you're driving like grandma or you're driving in a way where you're just asking to get pulled over...
but all in all, i am not sick one bit of the powerband...just remember that this is a dinky 2.0L engine so compare it to other engines of the same size and you'd realize how amazing this car is when it comes to power delivery

I don't like going up to/over 15 psi just driving around from point A to point B. I don't like to dog my car on a daily basis. Just because you have a certain amount of power, doesn't mean you always have to use it.
