i found some local speed shops around the area of the dealership where the evo is, so imma see if i can test drive it and take it to the shop and get a professional explanation of whats going down.

there are so many other evo's out there that you can choose from that wont have any problems... so why risk it in gettin this one when you can find a really nice one without problems??? but yeah i would for sure stay away from that one and not take a chance

so im looking at the ad for the evo again and i click the carfax and its all clean which is good, and it shows service records too, but carfax also does a warranty check, and according to carfax, the car still has 2 months or5287 miles left for basic warranty. it also has 62 months or 45,827 miles left.
the evo has 54,173K miles. start date of warranty 7/19/2004

does this make sense? and waht does the drivetrain and basic warranty cover IF it is under warranty??

i checked the carfax and its clean, even has all the service records, but carfax also says the car ha 2 months or 5k left for a basic warranty and 62 months or 45k for drivetrain warranty.
is this true?
car has 54K and the warranty started 7.19.2004
what does basic and drivetrain warranty cover? IF it still has warranty?

do yourself a favor and run the other way. SRS light? Sounds like this thing has been wrecked to me. Those don't come on without a reason. Even if the seatbelts have been replaced. I'd take it to your local evo tuner... see what they have to say if you really have your heart set on this car.

Car has a 60k / 5 year drivetrain warranty... which doesn't mean much (see signature), especially when you aren't the original owner. Dealer can say the previous owner abused it.

I wouldn't trust carfax, there is a well known evo in the northwest that has been wrecked 4 times but has a clean carfax cause the guy kept fixing it himself.

ok thanks migs........well ive gonna go see the car anyways cuz i have to do other things in the area, im the mean time ill keep looking around for another one, should i look for VIII or IX, (no Xs for me). other than the front bumper and turbo housing, are there other differences in the IX to VIII??? I had an VIII and ran into financial issues so i had to let it go, but mynext evo is in for a long run. honestly my boy has an 06 STi and i need to be able to take him at the track. he has the basic bolt ons and a tune. he has about 350whp but i cant rememeber the torque numbers.

Hey I live local and am trying to sell mine. If you are familiar with DCEVO it's posted there, it's on here through Tallen's account (my boyfriend) as I don't have 50 posts.

Mine runs great and he's done all the work. If you know DCEVO he's gotta a good rep for work there. Let me know if you wanna see it.

I'm only selling bc I want a hatchback for storage...
