Im about to buy an EVO, need some advice
You can already go to the EPA website and see what drivetrain configurations will be available for the Sportback (it's listed under the 2009 models for some reason). Anyhow, it lists a 5sp manual and CVT for the sportback GTS and the SST for the Sportback Ralliart.
Was on here a few months ago, as mitsubishi saying they were going to add a MT to the ralliart 2010 model. The 2009 Sportback is for different countries. I'll see if I can find the article later.

Like the sedan, the new Sportback Ralliart packs a 237hp (177kW), 253lb-ft (343Nm) 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder - a detuned version of the same 4B11 found in the Evo X – and is available with either a five-speed manual or the trick TC-SST dual-clutch gearbox. The car also comes with an active center differential, standard AWD, and twin-piston front brake calipers.
The regular Sportback model draws its power from a choice of three engines: a 109 hp 1.5 liter, 143hp gasoline engine, a 1.8 liter gasoline engine or a 140hp 2.0 liter diesel option. The Lancer Ralliart which fits in nicely between the regular Lancer and top-spec Lancer Evolution has a new turbocharged 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder DOHC MIVEC engine producing 240 hp (177 kW) and 343 Nm of torque. All engine options will come with a 5 speed manual transmission as standard, however consumers will have the opportunity to upgrade their models with theTwin Clutch SST (Sport Shift Transmission).
