so i had a check engine light on come on 2 times and both times it was a p171 code for running lean .. but the kicker was it was at 850rpms closed throttle at 0mph
so we figured vaccuum leak somewhere..
then about the time same time my brake pedal started like humming squeeling when the pedal was held lightly down at a light (same time CEL came on)
so at this point ive heard the brake booster is the culprit causing both of these probs.. i have a boost gauge and when im holding the pedal down when this noise occurs the vaccuum jumps a bit ..

so we are about 99% sure this is the cause..
any input ?

 

sounds like brake boost diaphram to me. do you have a hard pedal?

 

yea very.. it was the brak booster.. got it fixed and that was it..
