my personal opinion for your goal thats pretty low hp you can get those numbers easily on a evo 8 get your intake manny and throttle body ported for one. hotside of the turbo or in fact a turbo upgrade and your set. if you going to run meth i say only do it on a built motor and at that point its not needed

Well you have a IX and the op has an VIII, you can attain better horsepower figures with your stock cams and MIVEC.
To the op, with some good tuning, you'll reach your goal. If you use your water/alcohol injection, you'll definitely surpass your goal. Just make sure you use a good failsafe with your injection system if you go that route.

MIVEC should not be confused with the power increase VTEC gives Hondas.
I really think with larger injectors and all the items he's throwing on his car, with a great tune it's not impossible without meth. You don't need to port anything, just get a good tuner.
Methanol did not destroy your motor, the tune applied to your car running it more than likely did.
There are 1000's of cars running meth that are running strong and no issues.

Oh ok compsci there are also thousands of cars running meth that have blown up with proper tunes. So before we go into the numbers game how about we supply evidence that it's the tune Ns not the cooling agent. Some shops won't install meth at all.

My brothers Evo 8(60,000 miles), never beat on, made 375 wheel. Here is what he had done....
AMS frount mount
apr head studs(thicker head gasket also installed.)
272 cams (can't recall whick cams he used, ill get back to you on that one)
Buscher Turbo back exhaust gutted cat
injen intake kit with upper and lower intercooler piping
Big Al Dynoflashed tuned on 93 oct
cant recall the boost level.
He did it all on the stock 8 turbo, ran smooth as stock 372 whp no meth

I had an aquamist kit on my last car and it made 414 whp and 430 ft lbs of torque for a year before I sold my car. Now I plan on putting another kit in my new evo.

To the OP what year evo 8 do you have? I really don't think you need meth with your setup just a real good tuner but that depends on the turbo you have. The reason why Evo 9's make more hp is beccause they have a bigger turbo and the MIVEC head and tuning. To all the naysayers on meth. Meth is a great addition to an engine setup. But when running meth I think because the fluid is volitile and can damage your engine if not setup and tuned properly. I also don't think people need and should run meth all the time. I feel meth should be for the street run or grudge match you may have and of coarse for the track. But to just commute to work, school, or the gym 91-93 is all you need. I plan on running the Aqaumist HFS-6 kit hopefully this year and then is only going to be when I go to the track.

water/meth injection has gotten alot more dependable these past few years in terms of failsafe, so when you feel that you have reached a good amount of hp on pump gas and you know that the next and only thing you can do to give you more power is going to blast your wallet off the face of the earth, then go with the aquamist kit.

Ive done my research and ive already picked out a meth kit. This is a pure opinion thread.
I want meth but am not sure if i want to deal with having to worry about it failing and destroying my engine. i plan on running 50/50 meth/water on an AEM kit
i want 365 whp (useable) if i could reach this power level without meth i would, but am not certain i can.

thanks for all who have contributed to this thread. i want 365whp of usable streatable power, i realize i can make 365 whp on a a dyno and all it will be is a figure.
