Power

I was just wondering about the power on these evos.

We have a 2.0L with 300HP and 4 cylinders.

Now what if another performance car had a lets say 3.0L with 300HP and 8 cylinders?

Would it be much stronger then the evo due to a bigger engine and more cylinders? Would it be able to do stuff much faster without puting much strees on the engine compared to the evo even though both cars are 300HP?

Let me know thanks!

Are you serious? every engine is different. It's all about internals. Do some research.

The power band would be more broad so if traction & gearing wasn't a factor the v8 would win (3.0L is V6 territory).

I wouldn't say it is stronger but it'll be faster.

there are too many variables that go into saying which particular engine is "stronger" than another.

you'd probably see much high torque capabilities but it is all about the particular engine v8 or i/h4.

btw the thread, as with many of the threads lately, is full of failure.

What do you mean by stronger? Are u asking if the V8 can handle more power? Maybe you are asking if both cars are rated at the same horsepower level which one is faster? Well, I would go with the Evo just because it's lighter where as most V8's are heavier. It all depends on the car like the 370z(V6) is about as fast as the Evo in the 1/4 but, I believe the 370z gets the higher trap speed. So that what make the Z faster over all. If they were modded the Evo would win hands down. Again, it all depend on the car.(power:weight ratio) at this point.
