MR worth it?
it mainly depends on what you want... covered extensively in the forum....
Do you like a manual? (GSR)
Do you want to add power? (GSR)
Do you do a lot of highway driving? (No 6th gear on GSR)
GSR $$$$ << MR $$$$
I would get a GSR
Get the SSS package for GSR (HID etc.) rims.. some people don't like the stock MR's so you should be able to find some

People don't know what their talking about so don't listen! Research and decide for yourself! If you do any hdpe or auto-x it is but if you want big HP numbers then get the 5spd.

you can get a GSR with HIDs...MR is not worth it. my gsr is for sell if you want it! 29k, it is rare WW with aerokit, HIDS, big spoiler, HIDs in fogs, eibach lowering springs, drop in cone filter, 3" exhaust from catback, with Greddy tiC muffler and only 9k miles.
The MR tranny weakness is a controversial topic, but the consensus seems to be that if your plan is to keep it under 400whp, the MR is fine.
Everyone's cost/benefit analysis is different; for some the extra few grand is worth getting the Bilstein shocks, aluminum BBS wheels, aluminum roof, hood, and front fenders, gauge pack, HID headlights, integrated fog lights, vortex generator, and badging. For others it's not.
You can find an SE from a dealership for cheap sometimes because they don't know what they have, that's what happened in my case. The have the rims, seats, front lip, foglights and HIDS of the MR with a 5 speed gearbox. All you gotta add is a vortex generator and a boost gauge to even up the bells and whistles. Correct me if I'm wrong, you'll save some cash in the end.
Oh right we don't have the bilsteins either.

Your question was if it was worth it... well it's not if you're an enthusiast who wants and needs to tune and stock numbers are not your thing;
that MR thing is too sophisticated lol (and I'd get one if I had the extra cash)

holy ****.....ok, i say MR. Trans issue's, if your running big power you have to get a built trans anyway 5sp or 6sp, so that doesn't matter ( 350whp and under a 6sp will last all day long, i know i have one). I have a MR and swapped in a built 5sp, if i already had a 5sp i would of had to do the same, since you have to send off you core or buy a new on anyway.
There pretty much the same except for the alum parts (roof, hood..etc) i think it's worth it but w/e

Like everyone else said, if you like driving manual and modding the car, get the GSR. If you need a nice daily driver that you can drive easily in traffic and maybe do a few small mods, then get the MR. The transmission is the limiting factor with the MR; it can't hold as much power/torque as the 5-speed. Also, you can get HID's on the GSR if you get the SSS package, and wheels are very easy to switch.
