If your evo had engine knock wouldnt your check engine light turn on and throw a code

 

Not necessarily. Depends on why it's knocking. Could be a lot of things.

From what I've found, the knock sensors don't set off the light until you get some serious knock...
Since you get phantom knock sometimes anyway, usually during spool...

Best not to depends on the light to look for knock.
