Sup.... info on evo please

Hey I'm looking to maybe trade off my 05 neon srt-4 for an evo. I'm not new to the boosted cars or tunning so have most of the info about running a boosted car and am not a total noob haha. Truth is I know alot about srt's but no more than what i've found on here about evo's. Here's what I'm after, I would like to find an evo thats at least as fast as what I have now duh. My car dyno'd 471hp and 520tq, I'm runnig a 50 trim all supporting mods and a list that goes on for days lol. So what would it take to make an evo close to as fast as what I have now? Built motor.... how much hp can a stock motor handle? What does the evo run outa the box?...whith a good driver
Thanks for any info!

U probably have a faster evo with less power cause of the all wheel drive, my car is not heavily modified but alot of cars on here have good power on stock motors

LOL I did but didn't see what hp the stock block/crank/rods/pistons were good for holding...... The stock motor on an srt-4 is good for up to 500hp, any more it will most likely pop

You can get around 550, but everything is on the edge over 500! Some of the guys have been making around 600 on the stock motor! The rods are the weak point! When making 600 on them I personally think it only takes 1 bad run to lose a rod into the side of the block! Game over when that happens!!

Thanks very helpful! So I'll be looking to stay in the 500 range which now would be awd power that is put to the ground vrs fwd that is all watsed in smoke without slicks lol. From what I've read the 16g turbo stock on the evo is putting down 270+ from factory, how much hp can I get outa the 16g with all supporting mods b4 upgrade is needed to get to the hp I'm wanting? I'm sure I have over looked it on here and hate asking repeated Q's that I'm sure have been answered thousands of times so I'm gona keep searching for info instead of asking everything. Also I've heard that the tranny and transfer case are the weak point on these cars, True? Thanks again!

I haven't seen too many cars on here beyond 400 awhp without cams, an uprated turbo, and fuel delivery. I'm not sure if that's because they have the $$ or because it can't be done.

If you're going to take the time to bolt on all of that sh*t then why wouldn't you do the lower?

As of right now lack of funds are gona put a hold on the amount I can put in the car, I've got a baby on the way so won't have the money to do a full build till later on or when I get overtime lol. I've also thot about de-moding my srt and using what parts from it that I can, need to do more researh first cause I see alot of people running gt30r and gt35r turbo's and the one I have is a 50trim.

Congrats! Being 37 and single, I have no idea what you're going through.

Definitely easier to get power out of the older Evos. For the X a full build (stroker kit) doesn't sound quite so crazy.

You dont need a GT30 or larger turbo to make those numbers on an Evo.... with the right fuel, all the bolt-ons, and a forced performance Red turbo (stock appearing aside from thier new anti-surge housing) and of course tuned to run high boost (E-85 or methanol tune most likely) 500+whp numbers are reachable on a dynojet... willing to bet that same setup with a stock IX turbo would be a faster car than your SRT4 with less hp due to AWD tho

Also, once you throw a built motor into the equation the possibilities get pretty insane.... english racing has a built motor running the STOCK IX turbo that dyno'd 522whp and ran a 10.8 1/4....

Well the best time it has seen at the track was a 12.2 at 126 but it spun the rims in the slicks and only got one pass. When I ran it on street tires which it spun first and second best time was a slow 13.1 at 119.... then next pass at top of third clutch started slipping and haven't made it back since. Traction is the big problem with my car as to why I'm looking into the evo

Thanks for all the help and info! Depending on how I sell my car I might have my 50 trim to slap on the evo
