Small Battery Kit

Okay well im looking at buying a new upper pipe for my evo ix and well im not sure its worth the money to buy a small battery kit. If i dont drive it that often, wont that be more prone to it dying? Which would lead to me having to jump start it all the time. I will be ordering my upper pipe from ETS which im trying to decide if its really worth having the smaller battery kit.. which is like $275 and with the short route pipe, or just stick with stock and get the regular route pipe without spending the $275+ on the battery. Input please, thanks.

Just relocate the big battery to the back. That's what I'm doing.

Yea I'd say move it to the trunk, it's easy. Or:

Or, you can just keep your stock UICP, as it makes no difference in power, and save even more money.

Not really...Just makes it a little smoother transition and more free-flowing. Plus the rubber sections on the stock piping will expand a little with higher boost. The Stainless piping just looks better, and you'll want it eventually if you're planning on a larger intercooler and turbo like you said.

So there is no advantage to having a hard pipe compared to the stock pipe?

The main reason people replace the upper pipe is for reliability. The stock rubber upper pipe has a tendency to pop off under pressure once it has become worn. It also adds a great look to the engine bay.

I can't speak for everyone, but our piping comes with heavy duty silicone and t-bolt clamps to ensure no popping off at whatever boost you throw at it.

Honestly, I like the stock battery over the mini battery for a daily driver and if the car is sitting for a while. The reserve capacity of a mini battery is about 1/2 of a standard battery. The mini battery works great for saving weight on a track car.

If you have any questions, let me know!!

Thanks,

Michael

I'd never use a mini battery on my car. As for the UICP if you are going to keep the stock piece upgrade those crap worm clamps as soon as you start putting some boost into the car or you'll not be a happy camper one day

You can either save and just by the regular route or just relocate your battery into the trunk, cheaper to relocate it and you will have the extra juice to power a good sound system and last longer then trying to spend that extra money. Its only like 15lbs lighter. Aint worth it for a daily
