Boost leak??

Okay guys so im thinking my car has a boost leak because when i boost i feel when boost kicks in but not like when i first got it.... but now when boost kicks in it feels like it drops like at 5-6k rpm like i get no boost at all. i wanna do a boost leak test and im gonna make the boost leak tester but when i test what do i do??? do i just put it on the intake side of the turbo and start to put air in or do i have to take off the line for the valve cover breather then put air cuz i dont wanna be blowing out smoke like that other guy that did a boost leak test lol... no offense (sorrry for sounding newbish)

i think that could be coming from engine breather into the intake. someone might wanna pitch in on this one to verify.

Oil can leak a little from the engine breather to the intake. I would cap off the intake nipple and at the valve cover run a oil catch can. You can either buy one or make one.
As far as your boost leak goes, it sounds like you need to install new tb shaft seals. I'd buy the works seals, they hold more psi than stock and they cost about $25 or so. You can find instructions on these forums on making a oil catch can and installing new tb seals.

just alot messy engine bay. catches all your blow by oil. Is there any oil in you Lower intercooler Pipe? If so, you seal is blown for your turbo.

I don't think is accurate advice, without a catch can you probalby will have oil in your intercooler with or without a blown turbo seal.

hmmm how so?? oil does come from the breather valve, if extra pressure is there. Over time may cause oil to build, but not enought. also the hose runs back into the intake, so most of that oil if any will be on the blades. e been running a breather filter on mine for 2yrs and just had alittle coating. But if the seal is gone in the turbo, it will dump oil into you intercooler pipe, and exhaust pipe since it has no where else to go. Also get a weird whistle sound when spooling.
