Normal boost taper?

Hi everyone, i just installed a autometer boost guage on my stock IX (stock except AEM intake) and i want to know if its normal that my boost tapering from 20 to 14psi as the rpm go up...Do you think that a Electronic boost controler will compensate or it will do the same thing that my MBC do right now?

The OE setting is 19.5psi tapering to 16.5psi by redline.

Not sure about EBC's but all MBC's will taper.

It is normal to have boost tpaering, but after you get the tune you'll see less tapering and with electric boost controller you can fine tune the boost setting so the boost will hold better up top, but you gonna have boost tapering regardless.

I heard that the IX have more tapering than the VIII but i think that 14 psi is a little low... So a EBC is better than a MBC to control boost tapering?

According to the USD IX Dealer brochure

20.16 psi @ 3500 RPM and 16.10 psi @ 6500 rpm.
