Need some quick help on pricing!

I know that this may not be the correct way to ask for the price, but one of my father's friend is trying to sell an evo, and he asked if I wanted to buy it, and if not he is just going to dealer it, because he is in need of cash RIGHT now.

This is what he listed me.

2003 Clean Title, Evo 8 w/ 79000 miles, evo 9 turbo, new brembo, new clutch, bbs w/ new tires, some minor bolt-ons; apexi catbck, k&N intake, evo 9 leather seats (front and back), pioneer z3 double din, custom guages, blitz controller, short throw shifter, complete sound system and lowered on tein s tech.

Would you pay 13k for it? I need a response as soon as possible! THANKS !

Once again, I am sorry if this is against the rules, I just really need some advice and opinions, because I really do not want to pass up on this and regret it.

That sounds like a reasonable price from what you have described. Is there any way you can post pictures of the car so we can get a better assessment?

Yes, pictures are going to be attached.

I would also like to know if I am under paying/over paying and if I am, by how much?

Thanks for such quick response, I REALLY appreciate it. I just hate the fact that I need to give him an answer by tonight whether or not I want it.

EDIT: He only gave me two pictures, but I have seen the car in person and test drove it this morning, and it seemed fine, everything was in working order.

If it's in good shape and the mods are what you wants, 13K sounds like a good deal to me. I would give it a good look over to make sure it has been beat to inch of its life.

It also has a IX front end, aftermarket side mirrors, along with what looks like hood pins. The miles seem kind of low for a 2003. That could be a good thing though. If your father's friend is pressuring you to buy it tonight or else then I would just walk away. If he's serious about selling it then tell him to give you a couple days to get outside input. What's a couple days?

I see moderators moved this, sorry for the hassle.

It's because he's in need of cash right this instance for a bail, and he doesn't want to take out a loan or so that's what my father told me. It's either I buy it or he's just going to dealership the evo at some ridiculous price.

thanks for responses.

Will he let you take it for a test drive? Just make sure you check everything out before making your decision. 13K sounds like a nice buy for the miles and year of that Evo.

Give it a really good test drive and pop open the hood and take a look around... Don't just kick the tires, make sure all the mods look well done and the car responds well on the road, both the engine and handling. But for that mileage that seems like a pretty decent price...

Looks nice to me. I don't consider 79k low miles (had 76 on my `01 BMW two months ago when I traded it in) but then you wouldn't be getting it for $13k if it had 30-40k miles.

Thanks guys! I am probably going to jump on this offer. I will post pictures of my new ride when I buy it tomorrow! Would I be expecting much problems from this car? (sort of high mileage?)
