Here is what i would add to your list assuming you are on a tight budget
1. Walbro 255 Fuel pump
2. Hallman Pro MBC
3. Drop in Air filter (K & N)
4. Tune-Mellon Tune, remote tuning but excellent service and results
5. TBE (Ebay one works great and is cheap<300) i have had it on my car for 3 yrs with no problem
6. Boost Guage and Widband AFR Guage
7. Tactrix cable

is a wideband o2 necessary?
also, why wouldnt he just get ECU controlled boost rather then spend money on a MBC?

Also jeff, i might get flamed for this but, I'd go with a "cheap" route on your car, everyone says an Evo isnt a Civic so we shouldnt buy cheap parts, I am not saying go generic china parts but, don't overspend. Rather then buying ****ty parts, I'd buy almost all used except for certain parts. Its not worth it, the parts for Evos are pretty overpriced if you ask me. You can mod a 240 to 600whp before you get an Evo to 380whp price wise. Of course a 240 isnt an Evo, but you get the point. Buy used when it makes sense.

I definitely feel like I overspent, bought all quality parts, all new and it just...... wasnt worth it.

^^ Having a 400hp 240, I'm not sure I concur with this. My Evo puts down over 300 after about $1600 in parts.

I was exaggerating slightly, but imo not even much :P but if you are to take "good quality" evo parts. It runs the bank pretty good.

I think the parts I have are some of the best: AMS TBE, Works drop in, Greddy Profec.

With an Evo, just an ECU re-flash does wonders. If you took a stock SR and threw on, a TBE, drop in, boost controller. You might be lucky to get 250whp.

See like I think an AMS TBE is a total waste of money. Buy a used random TBE for $250-300 on here. Once he has 6+ mods on his car, your AMS to his whatever TBE will make slight to no difference in power imo.

Only consideration would be looks. Which the AMS looks like a huge can anyways to me hehe.

^^ That's just what I have, an exhaust is an exhaust. If I had bought the car with the stock exhaust on it I probably would have went custom for $150-200.

I have the AEM Tru boost on my car. Its basically a boost controller and a boost gauge. Kill two birds with one stone with it IMO. From the intake test, the Perrin made the most peak HP, but the Apexi had a broader power band. Thats why I chose it over the Perrin. Can't go wrong with either though.

The smell isn't that bad and I hardly notice it anymore. When I have my kids in the car, the AC and windows are up anyways. My exhaust is loud, but I've asked all my nieghbors and none of them hear me coming down my street at 3 am.

I agree and 02 is cheap HP, but if you can't install it yourself its kinda expensive. Still worth it though.

Look into the Muse licp. I just put one on my car a few weeks ago and its a great piece for the money and fits just fine.

I went alot cheaper on this Evo over what I spent on my last one. I literally have $2600 in my parts and will make at least 400whp on E-85. I bought my exhaust, 02 housing, wideband, and truboost new, but everything else was "gently" use from people I know.

You're out of your mind if you think you can build a SR 240 making even 400whp for what I have in my car in parts alone. Maybe if you count the price of the car as well.

exactly, you bought used parts, and cheap parts new. and ur talking about e85, which would be the same gains on any other turbo car. Not to mention these days you can just buy a motor making 500whp for a 240 for 6k

Our Stage 1 kit will put an EVO in the 11's on pump gas with a good driver. No reliability problems, exhaust will never rust off the car and all the mods are a real base foundation that won't even need changed until you are running 9's.

I bought my intake filter used and my injectors used....thats it.

My downpipe, testpipe, catback, wideband and boost controller were all bought new. My cams and 02 were bought used, but never used. I'm just patient for good deals.
