oil drain plug blew out
Did a search but came up with no results so I need a little input.
Did an oil change earlier this week and drove the car about 15-20 miles. On my way home from work tonight I heard a pop as I was going up a hill. The car was under boost but only at like 10 psi or so. When I got home I see that my oil drain plug had blown out and I now have over 4 quarts of oil pouring out on my garage floor.
I'm wondering if there is anything that might have caused the drain plug to pop out that might also harm my engine. I won't rule out that it may have just been my own stupidity and not tightening the plug enough, but I doubt that is the case.
Thanks in advance for the help.

A drain plug cannot pop out from boost.

Thats not touchy, thats business. Theres a certain level of professionality that you should expect from businesses and vendors in any industry. The OP even said he wasn't ruling out the fact that he made a mistake which caused the problem. He was simply trying to figure out if there was any way it could have been caused by something else.
So many customers and patrons of this industry allow themselves to be bent over and treated like crap which basically sets a standard which a lot of shops follow. As a small business owner, I have absolutely no tolerance for customers or potential customers to be treated that way in my organization and would consider that a personal embarassment.
Edit: To the OP, Your plug was not tightened all the way. To avoid issues and to make oil changes simple; try the Fumoto valve. I use it and highly reccommend it. http://www.fumotousa.com/

haha, +1, boost and oil pressure have no direct correlation,
I guess one could speculate that more boost equates to higher overall engine temperatures, which inturn could raise oil temperature and pressure.
butttttt its all dependant on so many variables so im going to stop my conjecture here.
Other than not tightening the plug enough, there's really not much else which could have caused this.
Do an your next oil change in roughly 1,000 miles to look for any type of metal shavings which may be an indicator that you damaged something. Also, I'd suggest hitting up Blackstone labs for an oil analysis. This will put you at ease and will be the tell tale sign if this had any negative effects on your motor.
Hope this helps..

OP,
That sucks to have happened but you wont forget to tigten bolts in the future.
As for the TTP thing, a bit of humour never hurt, especially since you said you might have forgotten to tighten it. So yeah was a bit of a fail wasn't it.
