Where are you guys buying your IX's?

Hey guys,

I was planning on buying a X, but I just can't do it, I have to have a IX.

Anyway, I have been searching every car sale site I can find daily for the past 2 weeks trying to find a nice IX, and honestly I can't find anything for a fair price. I keep reading about people on this forum finding low mileage clean IX's for around $20-21k. The lowest I can find is around $25k, and these aren't even pristine examples.

I have been searching cars.com, autotrader, ebay, craigslist, where else can I look? Is my timing just off or am I not looking in the right places?

Thanks guys!

Check out classifield. Or check other state evo thru website. Or post on for sale section (WTB)

There was few evo9 at good price but it sold already. Keep your eyes on, you'll find one.

Good luck!

I guess people just aren't selling in the NE right now, and the ones that are want ridiculous prices. There is a nice GG IX MR, but its a 2 owner with 32k miles, and the guy wants $29k!! Wtf man!

Here is the deal, people who sell cars on the forum never get what they are "technically" worth.. I mean no EVO IX should be $20,000 +- a few grand with low miles. The used values over the last few months have been going back up i noticed.

I think the extra high MSRP of the X's are allowing the AMV of the IX's to go rise a little more...

Another thing, they are getting harder and harder to find forsale also, i mean i rarely see 8's forsale online/paper/car trader etc etc within a 150 mile radius, and 9's are borderline impossible to find for under $27,000 anymore..

i was looking into refinancing my car about a month ago. My credit union said it was worth $22,900 and I have a 2005 VIII with 60,000 miles. I think its just that IXs and VIIIs are in higher demand right now than Xs. I remember seeing a thread on here that SoCal mitsu posted on here saying that they are paying top dollar for good conditon used CT9A evos. Maybe thats why youre having trouble, ut just keep looking youll find something.

first of all... the KBB and NADA RETAIL prices on a clean IX particularly MRs is around 25 to 27k with the private party value around 24k.

With that being said, the fact that now they are getting harder to find in clean stock form is almost non-existent. So... for the most part if you do find a clean one you will most likely pay around 23k/24k for a clean one...say under 20k miles and stock or near stock. Its simple, you want a IX that bad and in clean condition, unless you get someone that doesn't know what they have or you get lucky and buy one from a NON-Mitsu dealer than you will most likely end up paying the extra 2k or so to get a clean one.

I do agree though... paying anymore than 25k for a clean is a bit extreme but if you are that pressed to have a clean non abused low mileage IX, then be prepared to cough up some extra dough.

I am actually planning on selling my IX MR next Spring. It has 19k miles and engine is stock. GG. I will post a thread late in the Winter months. I'm sure it will go fast. I'm extremely **** and my car is clean. But for now... it will stay in the garage for the next few months

Ya I've been looking at cars within 300 miles from me, maybe I can change to 500 mile radius but anything more than that is a bit too much for me. I really don't have time to fly or drive more than 8-10 hours each way to get a car.

I'll keep looking. Thanks for your help guys.
