Need help with powertrain warranty...

So I wanna buy this guys evo 9.
I've never owned a evo but I hear mitsubishi is **** about honoring their warrantys.
I can't find a stock evo for me life so I've found one close to stock, exhaust, intake, and a tune. However even if I return the ecu back to stock settings, say in the future something screws up and I need to use the powertrain warranty they'll be able to check and see if it's ever been flashed and that will void the warranty.
Input?
Advice?

Each dealership is different. I've had warranty service done on my car (Brembo's & Tranny syncros replaced) with my visible mods. It all depends on your service advisor and how far he is willing to go for you.

I don't think that anyone can answer that question for sure. My advice is that if having a warranty is a deal breaker for you then you shouldn't buy an Evo. The VIN on that car could already be flagged for all you know.

It's a very expensive car if you aren't a mechanic and drive it anywhere near how it is intended to be driven (as a non-mechanic, I know).

Thanks for the input guys.
I'm still debating.
It's not that I never intend working on my car, I do, and lots of it. I just wanted two years worry free. I just got rid of my 350whp vw gti and I got tired of the occasional and always at the worst timing something would go wrong so under the hood in the garage I'd go. I'm in college and work full time, need something reliable but can't bring myself to get something slow and boring.

If you don't screw-up the car or buy one that's frucked from the getgo, it will be very reliable. Buy the best Evo you can. Good luck.

I don't know if they can tell if it's been flashed or not maybe. A good thing to do would be to call Mitsu up and verify that the warranty is still valid.
