Alright i'm about to buy my first evo in the next few days and was looking for a little info on an evo i've been looking at.

So it's an 06 evo 9 with 20,000 miles on it listed at 22,500

I've checked the blue book value and it says 22,300

But i have noticed that with these cars all of them are priced waaayy above there blue book value

Is this a good deal or do you think there is something wrong with the car?

He says it hasn't been in any accidents but i have not been able to check the carfax yet...

 

Get the Carfax. Ask if its modded or has been in the past. Are you familiar with cars at all? Take some shots of the interior and engine bay and post it on here so we can see if anythings different from a stock setup. Include the turbo and back of the radiator area. That is a good price for a low mileage 9. See its Carfax history, ask if its only 1 owner, post up the pictures.

not really the best pics...I see an aftermarket exhaust in the 1 picture...thats all i see...can you get any better pics of it??

 

its got a boost controller.. my answer is next.. just me tho

 

Yeah i can probably get pics tomorrow but i know it has an exhaust, a hks turbo timer and a manual boost controller
i didn't think that was too heavy of modding though or is it?

 

have you driven it yet? for sure check and see if the backside (looking in from the engine bay) of the radiator is dinged up at all (bent fins and damage) how does the engine sound? any weird metal tapping noises? when you accelerate and decelerate in 1st and 2nd listen for a whining noise coming from the car. find out if its been tuned, what parts its had in the past, and everything.
