Questions for upcoming EVO
why?
because mitsubishi doesn't honor their warranty what makes you think some random dealer will honor theirs?
they'll tell you "oh that's excluded in the warranty"
warranties like that are gimmicks to get a few extra hundred or thousand out of you...it's commission-able money

i say forget the dealer, sell the honda on your own since everyone loves Hondas, gas milage and relibility, then buy from a private owner. The dealer always tries to make at least 5k over the price the car was baught for...btw they are only givin you $3500 for an 03 accord???? thats cheap. Accords sell for a lot more 5-6k or more dependin on milage.

Just got off the phone with the dealer, he said the bank doesnt go off the KBB value. I asked him how much the warranty was, 2.2k. I told him, I don't want it.. he said we'll talk about it when I come down there tonight. He said he can check out a different warrenty and talk about lowering the price. Should I even get a warranty at all? Or just say screw it don't even give me one.
+1 on the high price. I was able to get a IX with 30k miles for what you'd be paying. I know it's easy to fall in love when you're looking for an Evo, but keep searching there are much better deals out there.
Also, avoid the warranty. That's a total waste of money. There's no way they'll cover anything that goes wrong with the car. As soon as something happens, they'll pull a Mitsubishi and cite "abuse" while voiding your warranty. Take the money that you'd pay for the warranty and set it aside for any repairs (and upgrades) that you may need. A little reading on this forum can help you diagnose and fix just about anything that may go wrong with the car.

I bought a 06 IX MR for $22k and it had 26k miles on it. You are getting taken advantage of. EJECT IMMEDIATELY!!!! The dealer knows you are emotionally attached to the vehicle. If you have trouble buying a vehicle, send in someone you trust to negotiate. That way they have no emotional attachment to the vehicle and can walk away if the deal isn't met.
I bought my Evo 8 for 15,000 and youll love the Evo..I had a 93 honda civic si with a good amount done to it but i made a good choice by getting the Evo it pissed alot of people off but i didnt care it was what i wanted and people are true about mitsubishi warranty they will not stand by it

Listen to the people in this thread. You can get a much nicer Evo for less $. Shop around for a good auto loan. Once you have a check in hand you can get serious about finding the best Evo for your $. Even if it means a weekend trip to pick it up.
Dealer =
P.S. Get a White Evo 9. You will thank me later.
