Last year I was in the same position just save enough to put down, I had to work three jobs over a winter and put ten grand down and I finally have mine. Doesnt help being 19 since my insurence is 320 a month and my car payment is only 276.

One thing to keep in mind credit wise is to restrict yourself from running your credit. Each time done, it will lower a few points. I work at my families dealership in sales, with that being said be patient and save for a nice down payment. For every $1,000 down on the Evo you have, it'll knock around $20.00 off per monthly payment. More of a down also will lessen the amount of interest paid to the bank significantly

yeah i hope 2k isnt all you got.. then you should be waiting and saving or shopping for something alot cheaper....

i would pump your deposit to 5 - 7k and have 1k reserve for maintenance.

also you dont loose credit score from running your own report, only when others run yours

dude i feel your pain, iv been trying to get an evo since i was 16 and im turning 19 in april. dont rush it, theres a reason you cant get one now even if you think you deserve one. when you do find the one you can get you'll feel great about it.

and about the 2k you have, you should probly want 5-7k like the guy above me said. 2k will get you financing on a really cheap car. just keep saving you can do it.

At 20% down you can usually get a loan even with terrible credit. I had the opposite situation for a while...high income and lousy credit. It has its share of problems, too.

Raff? Are you Armenian? Raff short for Raffi? o.O

Anyway, I'm kind of in the same situation but not really haha, I've got about $2K as well and my dad won't put a little on top for a down payment, he doesn't want me driving an Evo...I told them I'm driving unless it's an Evo from now on haha. But yeah, I've been in love with them since middle school.

Not that this is any comfort, but it has nothing to do with the evo itself and everything to do with some other variables: the debt to income ratio of your co-signer, the down payment, etc. Good luck, and keep saving. As your down payment gets bigger, evos will continue to get a bit cheaper.

2 grand is not enough for a down payment...i doubt you'll be able to keep up with payments if you cant even afford the initial 2grand to put down...either get another job, or find another car.

even with your aunt's 720 credit, and even if you put down a big down payment. you are gonna be stuck with a super high interest rate. i had 802 on my credit score, plus 20k down and wasn't even qualified for 0 percent because i don't make enough every month. i ended up with 8.95 percent...but i paid the rest a day later.

Best advice ever! Stay in school

I would offer to sell my ride to you, but I feel bad. Dude once you graduate you can buy anything! Because once you make that purchase you'll be burden with debt and you struggle to keep a paying job to pay for your evo. Then you'll do horrible in school, trying to balance work/school/evo. Good Luck, buy a honda and finish school first then you can buy the world!
