The economy is terrible even though we are suppose to be out of the recession now, or so does our govt and president. :EYEROLL: Evos will be around just like dsm's. Youll have plenty of time to get one.

Ya, hang in there and keep saving up for a larger down payment..

I was dead-set on getting the Evo when it finally came to the US in 2003.. and only 7 years and 2 revisions later I finally got one! I just kept saving, driving around junkers, and managed to build my credit score from crap to excellent. After that, I was easily able to put down over half as a down-payment and got 0% financing for the rest.

So don't worry if you don't get one this year, or next.. and maybe you'll be set just in time for an Evo XI

Haha, I even still have the original Evo VIII wallpapers from the US launch, that you might remember..

If you are gonna graduate this summer.....personally i'd say just wait to you get a job with your degree......i'm a little on the safe-side...but i've been living at home since i graduated, and saved a TON....I have a nice 5-month rainy-day fund, and enough money set aside for a new Evo X so that I have a nice cushion with making payments

But really, i'd just say wait till you get a job after graduation, by then you'll have a nice chunk of a downpayment, and more income to cushion yourself, besides you said you want to mod it, you'll probably have to wait to mod it till your next job anyway

as said like a broken record... keep up the creditscore and save save save.... maybe in 6 month you 'll be good to go on downpayment and maybe you wont even need your aunt for the loan soon...

goodluck and hope you get your dream car

Yea I am in the same boat w 8.5k down payment looking at 16-20k evo's. I have no credit lol but a cosigner so hopefully something works my way. The credit union I applied with still gave me an apr rate of 15% with my more than 10% down payment lol, just have to keep trying and be patient. Pretty sure the work you put in is worth it in the end, don't give up!

It could be worse. You could be 27 yrs old, be in military, have a 730 credit score have 6k to put down and still be approved at 13.7% or not be approved at all. I am getting frustrated as well because I cannot get the type of loan that I want. The best I have been approved for so far is 14,439$ @ 13.7%. I am looking for a 16k loan. I am trying to do everything I can to get approved for an Evo but it just isnt happening. I am not paying 13.7%.

Had an integra gsr when I was your age the insurance was more than the car payment. Save your money now buy your dream car when your 23 and insurance is cheaper. Seriously save the money you would be wasting on insurance and pay cash for your evo in a few years.

take lessons from this guy. 2grand for a dp is not gonna help you in any way at all. you're under 25years old so good luck with getting that $150 payment for insurance...im guessing IF you ever get that evo you will be paying over 600 a month. anddd you're trying to get a loan from a dealership which is gonna be a very bad idea. build your credit and save a lot of money then buy an evo in a couple years. or just toss a turbo on your lancer and call it a day!

Wait until you get your credit up. I'm in the military, with a ~600 credit score and I have a 15.45% APR. But once I start paying it off in 6 months I'll get it lowered 6%. You need a good credit score to not have a totally crappy interest rate. Save up the money for the evo and pay half cash and half loan or just pay it off fully, you'll be happy you did. Because then you would have money to mod. And I know, you're going to want to mod the **** out of it.

Edit: I pay $325 a month for car payments. and $220 for insurance. Thats alot of money man.
TY MILITARY!

eat ramen noodles for 3 months and save at least half of your income.. you said you are getting paid okay. i think that 3 months can get you at least 3000 dollars.. or just save up the whole year and get 10k saved (it sounds hard but it's actually really easy) buy a car until then.
