May have finally found an evo

Ok, so i finally found a couple of evos for sale around me. I'm not sure which to pursue. I need your guys opinions on which is better for the money, safer buy, etc. Any input would be awesome. The 05 is stretching my budget and i can't afford it unless he budges a couple of grand. any ways, here are the lovely ladies.

2005 VIII GSR

2004 VIII
He hasn't the 60000 mile service
Oil change- yes
Coolant flush- yes
t-belt- no
rotate/balance tires- yes
Air filter- yes
change the brake fluid-yes

What else should i ask them about?

I can only see the 2004 one cause the other link doesnt work. But for 2004 i would only pay $15k, and ask him if the 60k service has been done (timing belt, water pump, serpentine belts, tensioner), look for oil leaks, trans grinding, transfer case whining at over 20mph, radiator fins not bent (if they are bent then the car might have had a bigger turbo ot messed with it)

yeah the 05 has less milage plus it has more stuff in it (rims, dvd, gauges, and more), BUT for the $22k no way in hell that guy is gona get that money. If i was you i would offer him $18k, you got nothing to loose.

The guy that wants $22,800 is nuts. Poor economy and a car that likely has been beat.

I bought my 2006 Evo IX MR with 31,500 miles for $21k and that was in Western Mass.

Get the lower miles or hold out. If your going to pay around 20k, wait until you find an Evo IX... but I'm also biased. The interior of the IX's are nicer.

Thank you! finally someone who's talking some snse. I need to find a car in the New England area. I prefer the IX but i can't find one for under $24000. So i might settle for an VIII if i can find the right one.

i emailed the guy with the black viii (the car has definitely been beaten.)

"Hello,

The clutch was replaced with an Exedy Stg1 to hold the power better, which it does.

The boost gauge is a bar gauge on the steering wheel column next to the Greddy turbo timer. I dont remember the brand but its nice. I also have a megan and autometer gauges sitting at home I never used compared to this.

Thanks
Dmitriy"

"It is tuned by Matt at Dent Sport Garage (DSG), it makes 270awhp on their dyno dynamics which is the lowest reading dyno. I dont have much stock parts because I have no room for it! Dont have the stock wheels but you can find them for very cheap on craigslist and forums. Car just got a bad 3rd gear synchro, its still under warranty so should be fixed but I still dropped the price. I'll let it go for 22,5 now. Had a ton of interest but noone can seem to get a loan over 20k.
Dmitriy."

first email he avoided a few questions, then i asked again, and he finally shined some light. i wonder why nobody can get a loan over 20k

Be patient. I started my search back in September and didnt have the car in my driveway until Christmas. This isnt a dime-a-dozen civic or camry.

No one selling anything under a X will get more than 22k unless it is bone stock or has under 35k miles. Even still Mine was both of those and paid 21 for an MR.

I noticed one guy said something about a waranty on the 3rd gear syncro?? Unless there is some added warranty, this is a lie. The only Evo with a 5yr/60k warranty is the IX. The VIII had a 3 year 45k mile warranty.

What is the most you can spend?

And how is the evo 9 interior better, besides the leather seats which are known to take a crap after awhile????? What other differences are there???
