i have a 3" Megan TBE and i thought it was catless but it doesnt have that nasty rotten eggs smell like all my other cars that had no cats. Underneath it almost looks like a resonator and my CEL "was" on cause of the exhaust (thank you non-foulers!...) But i was not 100% sure if it truely is catless or if that is a resonator... i didnt buy the exhaust so i do not know for sure? if anyone knows please just make a quick post saying it does have a cat or res or it is catless, Thank you!

 

It sounds like you have a resonator. can you take a pic?

 

I will post a picture in the morning... it looks just like a resonator its about an 1 1/2 inches bigger than the standard piping and about 14 to 18 inches long

 

Megan doesn't make a test pipe. I thought that the resonator on Megan TBE was a straight flow thru design. The resonator is there of course and its apparent with the piping increase then decrease in size under the car where the cat should be. But when I called them they said it didn't decrease in piping size internally. Isn't that the main issue of a resonator? Piping size decrease or bottlenecking ?

Megan does make a resonated test pipe, that is what it may be. I have one that I am waiting to install.

 

Hahaha I have a beautiful TBE from AMS and thankfully it doesn't smell like a turd!! It's funny you sound disappointed your car doesn't smell
