All depends on what you want to do with the car. If you think youre going to build any sort of track performance car, go with manual and the least amount of options possible. MR is nice to have the 6th gear but is a heavier car since most of them have sound deadening and the such to make it more "luxury"

I would get a GSR, many say they have had lots of trans problems with the MRs. If you really want the MR look buy a GSR and get the head lights tail lights and rims, and its visibly the same thing.

i think im getting lost in the question thats being asked here LOL. I dont see any thing wrong with the EVO X MR the tranny was due to the tq limit but i think people are fiquring it out. The evo 9 is a more rawer car period is not pig heavy like the X but again it depends what you want. U can get anew X with no worries and a warranty most likely a 9 might have mods and minor issues to work out. once its all said in done you will enjoy the 9 more if you plan on modding if not then i would stick with evo X

Let's make this less confusing for you.

Are you planning on keeping it stock?
Yes: then get the MR.
No:
What mods do you plan on getting?

Do you plan on doing drag or autox?
Drag: GSR
AutoX: MR

Do alot of highway traveling?
Yes: Get the MR
No: Get the GSR
Reason?: The GSR is a 5spd and will run in the higher RPMs compared to the MR, around 3k avg.

what is this deal with daily driving. LOL you people need to realize what kind of car this is. I dd mine and its a 5 speed i drive it out of town if i have to with the 5 speed. The MR is a 6 speed which is great for cuising highway trips etc. IF you plan on modding pretty heavy avoid teh 6 speed as the tranny is weak. if your going to do basic baby mods then the 6 speed is good. The evo is a street legal rally race car. You need to keep that in mind when getting one your not getting the luxery of a BMW here its raw and gritty but well worth it. Hints the fact of getting two cars
