Just got a new MR
Hello, I just wanted to say Hi. I've been here for a while just lurking mainly, but this week I went and pulled the trigger on a new Phantom Black MR. I have had several cars in the past most notable 2 WRX's, 1 STi, and my recently sold 08' Corvette Coupe. All very good cars but I need a car that is more flexible than my Vette so after looking around at options I went to see the Evo's.
I was looking at maybe a new STi, but I'm not a fan of the new wagon body...and I did the Subaru thing already. I drove a GSR but was not a big fan of the trans. I know from reputation that's its a strong trans (OEM clutch is questionable) but as a daily driver (with mostly high way driving) the manual really needs a 6th gear.
I was not considering the MR as I never wanted a "Auto" trans car...but after the local EVO Specialist for the dealer took me out in the MR I was very impressed. I drove it myself and was even more impressed. With the 6th gear it was just slightly but notably more relaxed at high way speed. Besides, I thought if its good enough for the GTR to only have a Duel Clutch Trans then SST in the MR should be very promising.
I am doing the break-in thing right now and plan to visit Cobb Tuning in Plano for some work.
I can't believe I finally bought an EVO

BTW: Anyone have a recommendation for a good local window tint shop? I'm in DFW, Texas (actually closer to Arlington) Thanks

Congrats and hope you enjoy.
With some bolt ons and a good tune I've beat a few Vette's.
I believe the sedan is quite functional as well as great looking.
As a previous Vette owner, I enjoy driving the Evo much better too.
