silent BOV?

I am looking for a BOV that is as silent as possible. (I don't want the ricer woosh sound).

In order to reduce sound, it should be set up for 100% recirculation?

Is this one decent? http://www.turbowholesale.com/produc...productid=4732

Do I need any other kits besides what is included there?

So here is the issue..

I had an air intake put in, so that's making the 'woosh' louder. I guess getting a new BOV won't change that.

I heard reference to a silencer. Is that part of the stock air intake?

Nothing is going to be quieter than a stock ix bov and keeping your factory box intake. Once you change the into is when you really hear the bov.

Cheers!

I heard the forged BOV is made to be quiet. You may want to check out some of them.

I used a crushed 1g BOV and it seemed to be louder then my stock viii BOV

id say like many others go with the stock IX bov. handles high boost without leaking. and made for the evo so you dont have to worry about adjusting or surge. unless that is you want to go more than 30psi.

I have the Evo VIII BOV still... but it won't be silent without putting back the stock air intake.

Seems to me the solution here is to put the stock air intake on... although I can't find any on Google shopping or on eBay. Any ideas for a reasonable price?

put an ad in the forum classifieds, plenty of people would have them lying around. $50 should cover a second hand one.

from the youtube video of the tial alpha Q recirc(the one thats huge and looks like a bong), it doesnt make a sound at all. I've been wanting it forever but noone runs them! I guess theres major fitment issues because its so big... The IX is quieter than the VIII dv valve btw. i had to let my buddy borrow mine so i thru my plastic pos back on for a couple days and that thing was annoying

the stock bov does leak, just a mater of how much it takes to get it to leak. From what Ive gathered, usually right ~ 25 psi... some less...

If you want to get an "aftermarket" bov, the aps is barely louder than stock, and ONLY @ WOT! otherwise get a IX metal BOV

If you really want things to be quiet, use the stock intake.

But what's the reason to get a IX BOV over a VIII BOV? Just because the latter one is plastic? What specifically is wrong with it? Keep in mind I won't be running boost over the stock 19 psi.

Nothing is wrong with the VIII(plastic one) while it's working. The plastic ones do start to leak when getting around the 20psi, but many leak on stock boost over time. Spend the $ now on a IX metal one and save yourself the trouble later.
