Why do you even need a BOV?

For performance

A fast acting BOV/CBV protects the turbo bearings from high compressor surge when your throttle is suddenly closed, as when you are shifting. A properly sized and calibrated unit will also result in proper IC precharge to deliver boost as you come off the clutch.

If you run under 10psi of boost, you can prob not use a BOV. But then....at under 10psi you don't have an evo.

The stock one is very quiet as everyone else has stated, I can barly tell the difference between it and the normal noise of the turbo sucking in air.

Even with the stock airbox and 9 bov, you'll still hear the whoosh but very very lightly.

Mind if I ask what rpm you are switching gears at?

Stock with the stock IX, not like you're running 27+ psi daily. \:
If you want a new BOV because of the sound, please stay away from the evo.

Recently I convert my SSQV bov recirculated.
The old sound is almost gone and the car feels much better.
I menage to tune also the shift knock better with this setup vs atmospheric bov setup.
