Went from a 460rwhp GTO to a Evo :)
Welcome. The turbo looks like a gt35r, although I think there are others that come in that .70 a/r compressor too. Yes that's a meth tank. From the underhood shot, looks like you have a pretty sturdy manifold, tial 44mm wastegate, tial blow off valve, hallman manual boost controller, a grounding kit, samco blue radiator hoses, HKS DLI2 ignition amplifier, the Tien thing is an Electronic Damping Force Controller, from what I can see of the fuel system there's an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. You've got a thicker aluminum radiator. The first pic makes it look like the wastegate dumptube is pretty close. Does it clear ok?

if its a 35R and only running 20lbs of boost, that is first reason why you think its slow.... get rid of the meth and stated by sharkbite, get some bigger injectors and go feed your evo corn fuel and turn the boost up to 25-28 lbs!
The first thing I would do is take it to an Evo tuner and let them go over it. Put it on the rollers and see what she does and how she runs. Get a custome tune on it and go from there.
As far as the trans, there are a few good companies however non is better than shepard racing:
http://www.sheptrans.com/transmissions/evo.htm - this is for the trans, while you are at it, you might as well freshen up the transfer case as well.
http://www.sheptrans.com/transcase/evo.htm - link for the transfer case
If you get the shep treatment, you will have one of the smoothest shifting trans you will probably ever drive.
Good luck with the new whip
if that meth tank is empty - DO NOT GO OUT FULL BOOSTIN or fixing the trans won't be the only thing you will be replacing, lol

if it was a trade in, I would try to contact the previous owner and get all the specifics about all the wirings etc. before starting to delete parts. I'm sure he will try to help you out
if it came from auction, all bets are off.

ya that meth kit is a SMC if im not mistake one of the worse kits you can buy no failsafes lol. I agree alot going on with that car. you need to get the tune checked out and compression and leakdown test boost leak check. But if you go to Turbotrix and i think Mojo Motorsports is up there they can do all that for you

You hick,
lol just playing, putting sayin par and livin in KY. It needed to be said, LOL
Well again, its a bigger turbo than what is factory and they are running it at a stock boost level... of course the power is gonna seem low.
If the OP is a balla like sharkbite, he will forget the E85 and run around on C16 all day at 6.00 a gallon! the car will smell nice and certainly make some good power at 35 lbs of boost... if its a 35R

You're correct about the tein. Now the fcon is made by hks and its actually a stand alone ecu. Hes converted to speed density. You should ask the previous owner for a detailed mod list. I wouldn't be surprised if you have a built motor since I see a buschur spark plug cover. So I'm assuming they sold him a bunch of parts or worked on the car in some way.
Most of the mods are tasteful, but some of the mods are ricey imo. Some people are weird like that. Like that tachometer to the far right, wtf? i personally would take the lip spoiler off, not a fan of the tow hooks, either get a stock hood or paint the hood it has, paint the mirrors, take the eye lids off, paint the gas filler, disable the alky and retune it on something else. Not a fan of the rear bumper either but that can stay, for now
