As for checking for crankwalk, jack the front of the car up, take of the drivers side front road wheel and remove the plastic cover at the back of the wheel arch to uncover the crank pully. Get a dial test indicator on a magnetic stand attached to the sump and position the needle onto the face of the pulley. Push the pulley towards the block and then zero the DTI, then lever the pulley away from the block and hey presto the reading on the DTI is the crank end float. This should be 0.15 - 0.25mm if its above 0.4mm then you have Crankwalk and you must run for the hills!

good luck
The place where im getting my engine said they will allow me to check the crank end float.. so ill bring my dial indicator and mini pry to check b4 i purchase.

and i also picked up an 05 evo 8 acd transfercase

pm sent . sorry so late . but as far as why was for a couple of reasons. i had a good deal on a complete engine tranny etc... ive been also trying to import a couple jdm cars and it just takes too long... so i decided to get that so i can simply say im truly jdm powered lol. lots of people claim jdm this and jdm that but really all it is is a bumper or a headlight thats jdm.

swap is in ....didn't find a IM for a good price yet so i will be using the evo 4 IM. I dont have a problem with wiring.. i actually like it. The A/c clutch from the evo 4 is hitting the frame rail. i might have to use the evo 8 a/c compressor with the evo 8 bracket. P/s hose it too short by about 1 1/2 inches. The back tranny mount bracket needs to be swapped out with the evo 8 bracket . Thats all i have for now .. i will be going at it again tommorow to see whats poppin.

the swap is fairly easy so far... also the 1st o2 sensor needs to be changed out with an evo 8.

i was trying to keep the cost down(IM). yeah check my album. I ran into a little problem with the a/c clutch hitting the frame rail but everything else is on the money. I thought the acc. belt tensioner was wrong. when i bolted up the tensioner after i changed the oil filter housing it was almost touching the crank pulley on one end and the frame rail when i had to pull it back.. but then i saw a couple of scratches from the previous owner exactly where it would hit on the frame rail with the rachet.... hopefully my axles will get here early enough for metoinstall them tommorow. And i also need the tactrix cable so i can disable the immobilizer till i get it to mitsubishi.
