Evo tranny??

I had a guy at work tell me that evo's have terrible transmissions! Is this true? And if so how to prevent it???

1.) Tell that guy he is stupid. 2.) change your tranny and diff fluid and your ready to go. Any tranny is "terrible" if you dont drive right he prolly knew a guy who couldnt drive well and messed his tranny up so he herd from that guy how bad it was.

even if he meant the clutch, he's still a moron. the stock clutches are fine in the hands of qualified personel. If you've got an inexperienced driver, then the clutch won't last long.

He said it was the trannny and that the guy he knew had to rebuild it 3 times! I just figured the same thing that the guy was a moron and couldn't drive it

Driver error.
These transmissions are just fine and can take more abuse than any other AWD transmission on the market. Just change the fluids annually and use proper driving techniques. A full set a bushings, good fluid, a nice knob, and a short-shifter and these transmissions feel really nice (coming from a guy who owned a Honda S2000).
