Newbie joining just to say goodbye

Sadly I joined the forum just to say goodbye. I'm looking for any suggestions on a low maint but decent to drive replacement car. I have a kid on the way and this is sadly one of the ways I need to cut costs. So far I looked at the Mazda 3 5-door and the Lancer Sportback. I'm looking for something that would be capable of carrying a small bit of cargo (Apparently kids require a lot of crap - who knew?)

I haul the kids around in my Evo, they love it! Cargo? Evo has a trunk.

Sounds like someone has put this idea in your head....

I'd say the lancer sport wagon would be my first replacement. Good luck though and congrats on the kid.

We have a 5-door Mazda3. The car tries to be a lot of things, and it does none of them extremely well. Essentially, it's a decent commuter car with some sporting pretensions. The steering drives me nuts. I can't tell when the tires give way until I feel it through the seat. In terms of room, it's not as spacious as the Evo, but it is fairly low maintenance. To be perfectly honest, I prefer to drive my Kia minivan rather than the Mazda. Good luck.

In my case, i have 2 kids (3 years and 20 months). i have an evo 8 and a mazda 3 sport. The trunk of the evo is enough for all the kids need. (Maybe we think that take more things than what the kids realy need)
The trunk of the mazda 3 is not so large that we think. don't know for the mazda 5.
Good luck. And congratulation for the kid on the way

+1 on the evo being able to be a family car. My son is almost 5 now and has been in the evo every single day of it. My suggestion is maybe if you have a loud exhaust take it off for a couple of months, thats what i did and then put it back on. Trust me in the long run your kid will love it.
