Those who've upgraded your bushings, how much added noise and vibration is there compared to stock?

No vibration here. Can't speak to noises. My Evo made so many different ones...

This is true, to an extent ... if the bushings are not "bottoming out."

If the drivetrain shock is bottoming out the bushings, then the diff shock is lessened initially, then all of the shock is instantly transferred to the diff when the bushings go flat. This would still be worse than transferring more shock to the diff gradually and in a linear fashion with stiffer bushings.

I've got a full set of Energy bushings waiting to be installed. Just got to get around to it.

I have the energy suspension bushing. Vibrations are minimal. The noise however sounds like a quieter version of a tcase whine when going over 60.

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm thinking about upgrading the rear diff and stiffer bushing might be a nice option. I don't know if I'd be happy with the noise, though.

learn to drive better and the sounds wont be there. you cant just pop the clutch out super quick when you shift
Wrong, it's not the gears, it's the actual mounts. They're too soft and they have too much play and can't cope with the drivetrain movement so the diff goes clunk. It's not the gears and it's not due to someone needing to "learn to drive better".

Check your facts next time before you try to be so condescending.

I have both the Beatrush rear differential mount bushings and propellar shaft bushings. I do notice some noise after the installation, especially from the rear of the car. The car does feel more solid and the thump was eliminated also. I'll just add the noise to the number of other noises that my Evo has.

I appreciate the helpful comment. I'm going to look into this further, but at this point it doesn't look bushing are right for me. Thanks again, everyone.

It appears changing the diff side mounts isn't too difficult. Would just changing those bushing be good enough? I'm all stock now and don't know if I want the trouble and potential added noise of swapping the mustache bar bushings.

Old threads back to life. Quick question. So does changing the bushings like stated before just get rid of the sound or help out with the diff altogethee
