Exclamation Serpentine Belt Idler Pulley

So I was driving along the other night and decided to get sideways coming onto a street. I had the AC, radio, and headlights on as it was dark and hot. Ripped on it, taking it to about 5,500 RPM and then all my dash lights came on ie. battery, anti, and engine lights. It took me a about a mile and then I noticed there was no power steering either. Then it hit me as I a looked at the temp gauge maxxed out on H.... The serpentine belt either broke or came off. I quickly tuned the engine off and coasted to a stop. I had a friend come meet me and we started to investigate. At first we thought it just came off then I looked at his and noticed mine was missing something. It was the idler pulley! After further inspection we found that the bolt which holds it on had broken off almost flush. We checked all the other pulleys to insure they moved freely and they all did. I havent ever heard of a car breaking a bolt that holds a pulley on before and neither had he. Anyone have any suggestions on how this happened? I have already fixed the car which actually was fairly easy other than dropping the passenger side of the engine down about 3 inches. I used a bolt extractor and it was cake!

Thats what I was thinkin too. Just did a timing belt, balance shaft belt , and water pump about 10,000 miles ago. It just seems like it would have broke before now though.
