buying cars in different state
buying cars in different state
Hey, i was wondering how many people have bought cars from different state. and how the transaction went. I currently live in a state that doesn't have many evo's for sale, and i want to maybe buy one from out of town, and have it shipped here.
So just wanted to see other people's experience on this.
Thanks

I live in Alaska and purchased in Seattle WA.
Was in town on business and made a point to setup some times to look at a couple Evos while I was there. One guy even picked me up from the airport in it. Found the one I wanted. Went to a branch of my bank and setup financing then I had a car to drive for the rest of my time there.
Dropped it off at my shipped, hopped a cab back to the airport..... 10 days (and $1000) later I had my car in Alaska.
Having the experience I did I would not consider buying another car without looking out of state. Alaska, however, is a very limited market for specific cars.
As far as title and registration etc. the bank took care of all that with getting it changed over to a title in my state and then registered it for me.
As with all purchases get a car fax and if it looks fishy pass.

if you can't find what your looking for....and chances are you won't...... purchase out of state. Do it with a dealer if you can't visit. Or if you have a couple days go down there and make the dealer pay for or take off the price of the ticket. Usually to get that you will have to agree to a bill of sale and put a deposit but if the car looks good and your serious why not>? Always have them put on your deposit agreement that if the car is not as represented (this is vague I love it) then it will be refunded. Make deposit with a credit card or debit card so you have recourse.
Ask for lots of pictures, car fax etc, any mechanical problems...so on.
Call Alaska Auto Transport, you can google it, they will ship your car from Seattle for around $1100 bucks....best deal I could find and they did a great job.

Also check seattle, auburn, craigslists sometimes dealers use them. And don't forget that you could really buy anywhere within driving distance from seattle and then drive it to the shipper.

Just got a look around.......the ones with really low miles tend to get snatched up pretty quick.
